Kursunlu Waterfalls, one of the best places to visit in Antalya, is located in the Central District of Antalya, at the end of a 7 km road branching off to the north of the Antalya-Serik-Alanya highway at a point 12 km east of Antalya.
It is a pleasant nature refuge from the dust, sun, heat, and crowds of an Antalya summer day.
It is about 20km away from the city center. It can be reached via the Antalya – Aksu Highway, then going north at Sogucaksu Bridge along the 8km long road.
There is a parking lot at the entrance of the waterfall area. Parking is free, but entrance to the waterfall area is 8 Turkish Liras per person. Museum Card is not valid in the Waterwall.
The dense of forest area was made into a Natural Park in 1991, and the rich plant life combined with interesting water and rock formations at Kursunlu Waterfall has created an unique natural landscape. The area is open to visitors since 1986. Waterfall and picnic area cover 33 hectares of land.
This Waterfall is a unique place where a cascade connecting seven ponds falls over an 18-metre height against a backdrop of green nature.
Because of the flora except winters, this area is called as Plant Tunnel and attracts the visitors.
The cluster pine is the dominant tree species in the area, with small groups of eastern plane, laurel, carob, wild olive, mastic, willow, fig, myrtle, oleander, blackberry, wild rose, tamarisk, spruce, kermes oak, thyme, wild mint, beech tree, bracken and ivy.
It is a quiet peaceful place with a unique landscape and subtropical nature. The path covering the whole surrounding of Kurşunlu Waterfall can be visited by a half-hour or 45-minute walk.
Attractions
This waterfoll is one of the most attractive landscapes in terms of lush plants and small or big various picnic areas in Antalya. Picnic area and the promenade on the banks of the stream formed by the waters of the waterfall is quite interesting in terms of variety of the plants.
There are viewing terraces, playgrounds, car parks, and other amenities available for visitors.
