Turkey’s Southeastern Anatolia Region, has been home to many civilizations that have reached to the present day starting from prehistoric times. This region also hosts cultural assets belonging to polygamous religions and three great religions (Islam, Judaism and Christianity). Southeast Anatolia Region, especially Mardin, Sanliurfa, Sirnak and Siit provinces, is a mosaic of religions.
Therefore, the main tourism product of Southeastern Anatolia is cultural tourism. Tourism activities in the region are mostly based on culture and faith tourism. The cities that have survived from the first ages to the present day (Adıyaman, Batman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kilis, Mardin, Siirt, Sanliurfa and Sirnak) host historical, cultural riches that will attract the attention of local and foreign tourists.

According to one legend, the Mount Cudi, which is the land of the ship of Noah, is also in this region (in Siirt Province).

Climate
In the region, the typical Mediterranean climate, which is dry and warm in summers and warm and rainy in winters, is seen.
However, the climate seen here is different from the typical mediterranean climate. The summer months are warmer and the winter months are colder.
Due to the effect of hot air currents from the south, especially in the summer months (July, August, September) is extremely hot. For this reason, spring and autumn months, it is more convenient to visit.
